PMA -- Light Fixtures

Description

Kale opened the door to the office, tool box in hand and ready for some electrical work. He wasn't as good at electrical work, but this was just changing light bulbs, so he was pretty sure he could manage. To be honest, he probably didn't even need his tool box, but best to appear professional.

The office was extremely dark, the only light coming in from the hallway door that he had just opened.

"Hello?" he called. "'Mhere to fix the lights?" He squinted in the darkness, trying to see whoever it was that needed assistance.

"H-Hello?" Kale was lucky he heard such the faint, waver-y voice. He turned and then saw, on the desk on the far side of the wall, a small Joltik wearing an even smaller top hat. He walked over and saw the little electric bug was very upset.

"Y'needed the lights fixed?" he asked, holding up his tool box.

"N-noo. No! I, mean yes I need the lights fixed but I'm suppose to do it! But I'm too small, I can't reach, and I can't climb up with the lightbulbs! B-but it's my responsibility, I need to change them myself!" The tiny Joltik was frantic.

Kale frowned. He didn't see what the big deal was in asking for help, especially when he could get the job done super quickly.

"What if I gave you a lift?" he asked, holding out a hand. The Joltik scrambled on to his palm.

"Y-You're still not tall enough, though. The ceilings are pretty high!" Kale frowned.

"Alright then." He placed the tiny electric type on top of his head and then switched off his Dittech. As Kale shifted from his human to Pokemon form, the Joltik was brought closer to the ceiling. Now as a full Tropius, Kale could easily use his long neck to get the Joltik from the box of light bulbs to the ceiling.

The Joltik, no longer upset, happily changed each of the light bulbs, illuminating the dark office space. Once finished, Kale lowered the Joltik back to the desk and switched the Dittech back on. The Joltik thanked Kale and he smiled.

"Was no big deal," he chuckled. Although it would have been a lot easier if he had just changed them himself.

"Well, please, take one of my top hats as a reward!"

Kale frowned. "Uh, I don think one of your hats would fit me," he chuckled.

Joltik frowned, looking confused. "Oh," he said with sudden realization. "I meant one of the hats by the door."

Kale turned  and looked to the wall by the door. He hadn't seen them when he walked in because of how dark the room had been, but now he saw the wall was almost lined with stacked hat boxes.

"Oh."

You could say this mission was very illuminating for Kale.
